Custom Fit
A seat cover which is crafted meticulously with the exact measurements obtained from the automobile maker is called a Custom fit seat cover. These covers are manufactured in such a way that it fits the exact year, make and model of your car. It leaves access to every feature of the seat coming with your particular model.
Friction
The movement of one or both object against one another caused friction. Energy in the form of heat is released when friction happens causing massive in deterioration of the surface material. Friction happens also in automobiles when you repeatedly entry the automobile and come out of it. The rubbing of the clothing against the cover causes friction.
Neoprene
This oil resistant material was originally used as an alternative to natural rubber. However over the years researchers have discovered that Neoprene can be effectively applied elsewhere too. And so you will find it elsewhere too. Neoprene is nowadays used in wet suits, fan belts, noise insulation pads, gaskets, and electrical insulation and also seat covers.
Pelts
Those animal skins which still have the fur, hair or wool still attached to it are often referred to as pelts. Pelts do not shed like other lesser fur seat covers and hence are widely used as car seat covers.
Pink Slip
Pink slips stands for the title of a vehicle and is an American slang term. It is often recommend by DMVs that you should not drive with your pink slip in the glove box, just in case your vehicle is ever gets stolen.
Polyester
Polyester is made up of lightweight but strong synthetic fibers and this material is widely used for various applications because of its water-resistance quality.
Semi-Custom Fit
A semi-custom fit automobile cover is manufactured to fit about 80% as well as a full custom fit seat cover. You must never go for semi-custom seat covers if your vehicle has side impact airbags as a semi custom fit does not leave space to access these vital safety systems.
Universal Fit
A Universal seat cover will fit any bucket seat. This cover is made following standard patterns and hardly gives a perfect fit. These covers are never recommended.
UV / Ultra Violet
Ultra Violet or UV rays are is an electromagnetic wave of light that is emitted by sun and is invisible to the human eye, though is visible to many snakes, birds and insects. Though most of the radiation is blocked by our atmosphere, but some get through and end up harming the human skin and our upholstery to a huge extent. It takes out the natural oils in leather, and it bleaches color out of vinyl and cloth upholstery. Prolonged exposure to UV is never good.
